» Nachoes_92 - Scary rat behavior something super freaky happened the other day. i brought my rat to a larger (new) cage that she had never been in. she was in there for about 5 minutesand then suddenly she froze, and looked horrified1 seconds later she was bashing into the cage walls uncontrollably. after she stopped i cautiously examined her, her nose was bloody and there was blood on other parts of her head. i set her back in her day cage and all she did was lay there for 1 hour. she would not get up! the next day she was jumpy and apprehensive about every noise! is this a bad sign? Please help, I dont want my rattie to die!! -- posted by Nachoes_92 » blssdwith7 - Can rats have lice? Being a mom I am familiar with lice and their nits on the shaft glued onto hair...why does it look like my baby rat has the same thing??? No bugs though...just the nits. Just got him today from the pet store, noticed the (nits) after hours. Can anyone help me??? Can rats really have lice?-- posted by blssdwith7 » JBROOKS - Re: Scary rat behavior In response to Scary rat behavior posted by Nachoes_92:rats are very teratorial, they get use to there home and dont want to leave it, if there is strange sent on new cage they will reject it especially if they have been in there cage for a while. just leave them in small cage they will fine. -- posted by JBROOKS » JBROOKS - Re: Can rats have lice? In response to my rat is losing hair..help! posted by DanainUtah:Rats generally only live around 3 yrs, although it should be noted that some live to around 5 yrs. As rats get older they do occassionally lose their hair and get lazier. Sometimes a rodent liquid vitamin can help with the hair loss. This can be purchased at a pet supply store. -- posted by Missikat
