Robert, honestly, posting here does not result automatically in an onsite garden visit by garden editors. We are just being silly because of the yard art contest running right now. And I really would like to get some actual garden reports about Water Perry. I always distrust the catalog hype until I see it with my own eyes and hear form other gardeners how it is doing for them.....

Hi Robert - how nice of you to post here. I like blue alot too and find myself naturally attracted to it, especially the very soft tones.

Dusk is indeed the magic hour for blues. Is it the evening sun's orange glow and sharp angle? Who knows? In any case, dusk is the time I normally enjoy my garden anyway. I don't have much time in the morning for admiring my garden, but sometimes I think about it as I doze away in bed until the last minute.

I live in Vancouver now, although I was born in Toronto. I've been to Boston once, years ago -- beautiful city you have there...

Carol seems to have found your garden page. I did not have the same luck. I am planning a future article featuring personal webpages of urban gardens. This will include private and community gardens. Drop me a line again with your URL and I'll be sure to take a look.

Or maybe Carol will post the magic URL that she found...

Thanks for the link Carol - that's right for sure -- and the millinery mentioned is what gave it away. It seems that Robert and I share two interests.. Blue flowers and making hats, although mine are generally woven...

Robert has documented his garden chronologically, and on his site you can see the development of his garden since 1981. Quite a feat and very interesting too -- I like the raised beds, and the garden looks like a really great place to kick back and socialize -- the classic patio! I definately recommend a click on the above link to his site.

thanks for all of your kind words of welcome! sorry about the bum homepage link....i have corrected the link on my profile, which will take you to the whole page, not just the gardening section....(shameless plug)...it is possible my morning glory is about to bloom because it is very protected(?)...i also did not plant seed, but bought an established plant (no patience) ...i have it climbing two wire obelisks with alaskan nasturtiums (variegated leaves) at the base...the nasties just started blooming yesterday....concerning the "water perry", it has kind of stopped blooming now....i planted it in a space between bricks in the patio along with the violas...not sure this was the best place for it, but it looked great...at the moment it is my "blaze" climbing roses which have pride of place and are putting on the best show....i would love to join the tacky yard art contest, but, unfortunately, all of mine is tasteful...8-)...

Robert, we have a special section for tasteful entries.

I really did like the chronological way you set up your garden tour - and the recovery you made from having the fence and everything blown over!

BTW - I'm an old theater person myself - set design, though. And a bit of time onstage. . .

Hi Jojo,

Just wondering why most of the links in this article don't work? I was really looking forward to seeing the pictures...

In response to message posted by WordCharmer:

The links don't work because the article was written years ago. I have the same problem with my old articles. This article was written back in the old days when we were supposed to showcase the best of the internet, so many of us used a lot of links in our articles.
