Carnations in TarnationRead the article this discussion is about

» CGoodloe - My carnations I've never had carnations before. I'm not sure what kind I have now. But they came from Publisher's clearinghouse I believe. Normally you'd think their stuff would die. These babies have suffered hot CA sun and still lookin wonderful. No blooms though, but they are still small tuffs of green. I'm going to be moving to Alabama in December and wanted to research how to care for carnations in winter months. I know they are frost hardy mostly. But should I bring them in the house during winter? They are all in pots of course for easy moving. Thanks for your article. I haven't been able to locate info on carnations by search engines alone. I did a search at Suite101 and it pulled up your article! If you could please email me to respond to my question about the winterizing of carnations. I don't get in here but every couple of weeks to do my own articles at Garden Pests. Carla Goodloe -- posted by CGoodloe
