» summer73 - Losing the stomach fat??? Hi,I have a 3yr old and a 9mth old who both keep me quite busy. I breastfeed my first child for 14 mths and i was able to lose the weight and stomach fat. However, with my 9mth old i currently breastfeed him but i still have my stomach fat. This is frustrating to me because im thin but my stomach bulges out a little. I thought maybe i could do 400 situps a day, but with to kids it is very difficult to commit to. Do any of you know another alternative to lose the stomach fat? -- posted by summer73 » carrot - Re: Losing the stomach fat??? In response to message posted by summer73:Sit-ups will definitely tone the stomach muscles. You might give the South Beach Diet way of eating a try - it actually shrinks the stomach a bit - look on Prevention.com and search for South Beach Diet and look into it. I'm not saying you have weight to lose - just that it works on reshaping your body while losing. Good luck and congrats on your two great kids. -- posted by carrot » biogardener - Post-natal exercise After the birth to my son, I was too weak even to sit up in bed, but the hospital exercise lady came around to show me demonstrate the kind of exercise which I could do lying down. When she came back, she told me that very few new mothers actually do the exercises which she tries to teach them, and that I was her best pupil.I think I know why. I have enjoyed exercising all my life starting as a preschooler with my mother. During my 10-month pregnancy, I exercised as before, getting library books to show me which exercises would be good for me at the time. The women who are not in a habit of regular exercise are not going to change after giving birth. It is good to have that habit beforehand. I walked out of the hospital with exactly the same weight which I had before I got pregnant, and I had no baby fat anywhere, certainly not on my tummy, because I had done loads of sit-ups during pregnancy. So I would really encourage women to do those exercises during pregnancy and they won't have any baby fat problem afterwards. -- posted by biogardener
