I caught my 16-year-old smoking pot

» stp41 - I caught my 16-year-old smoking pot. I caught my 16-year-old smoking pot. She frequently lies to get out of trouble and her grades are fair to bad. She was already on restriction on school days and about half the weekends. Now it will be all weekends as well as what I call "hard labor." She'll be working around the house doing whatever I can find for her to do all day Saturday and Sunday. I'm at my wits end. How do I get through to her that she's on a destructive path?-- posted by stp41 » lilpothead - weed 1st talk to them then let them decide what they want do its there lives let them live it and if they git in trubble its there falt-- posted by lilpothead » scan - Re: I caught my 16-year-old smoking pot. In response to message posted by stp41:I would talk to her about who all is involved in her choice about doing it. I would tell her that can’t make her stop but it hurts me that she would do it and it would not be in my house ever. I would talk to her about it as an addiction and find out if she felt she had and addiction or if she wanted help and support. I may also take her in to talk with someone that has more experience talking with children about drugs. Most schools and police departments have some that could talk with her. I would also add that I love her enough to turn her in. -- posted by scan » potkidd420 - pot head! So lets put it like this, I'm an 18 year old stoner! yup!! thats me. i spent my high school years smoking mad amounts of pot, lieing to get out of trouble, and i had crappy grades! get this though, this is the kicker, I'm in college now and smoke a lot more pot then i did in high school but my grades are wicked. My mother thinks I've gone straight edge. so, now where is ur pot theory? cuz I'm brilliant and i smoke pot and I am gonna have a very promising future!-- posted by potkidd420 » amyshouse - Re: pot head! In response to pot head! posted by potkidd420:You are far from brilliant, you can't even write a complete sentence, and somoking pot will not lead to a great future. You are fooling yourself and apparently some others too, but it will catch up with you. -- posted by amyshouse » spank86 - Re: pot head! In response to Re: pot head! posted by amyshouse:I disagree completely! Smoking pot is a lifestyle choice, just like drinking alcohol socially! Does alcohol stop you from leading a successful life? It may have MORE negative effects to your life than what pot smokers have shown to experience. SO to all those "pot head" stereotypes, I'm running a million dollar business and toke everyday! I perceive my life to the fullest, and DON'T let FALSE social CONSTRUCTS let pot harm me through negative thinking! If you think you're a burn out stoner, then you might as well be!! So, tell your daughter, life is a series of changes, which ONLY your perception can affect! If she wants to lead a successful life, she can think like a winner and think BEYOND the fabricated RULES with which we live our lives! Tell her to learn to think for herself and she will lead a more fulfilling life! Night all -- posted by spank86
