Phone Psychics: Fact or Fraud?Read the article this discussion is about

» FaeryInABottle - I agree, but.... I wholeheartedly agree that it is possible to read tarot through a phone, an internet connection, or anywhere else. After all, it's metaphysical, not just physical.Don't you feel a bit bad for selling your gift though? I was always taught to give it freely to whomever needs or desires it, and I've stuck to that belief for years. No one person has the same moral structure, but I just can't see making someone pay an outrageous amount of money to a gifted tarot reader when they could easily find someone to do it for free. Just my thoughts. :P -- posted by FaeryInABottle » Myrrha - Re: I agree, but.... I don't think it's a moral issue at all. I know of readers who charge as much as 75.00/hour for their readings. Also, why shouldn't one be able to use their natural gifts to put bread ont the table? You don't go visit the doctor and expect to be seen free of charge? or go to the mechanic or the any other service and expect it to be for free, correct? I do free readings also. Do you object to readers getting paid at fairs? What's the moral issue of earning cash with what I've been blessed? Do you object to the carpenter who earns money building houses? Or the artist who sells hir paintings? or the little old lady who sells her quilts? Please explain to me why you feel this is different? One thing to consider... many of those folks who are paying the "outrageous" amount of money to have a reading are looking for something besides a reading... counseling... "I don't tell folks what decisions to make but rather explore their options based on the possibilities I see. In response to message posted by Myrrha:Myrrha, I agree with you, however, my son agrees with the opposing viewpoint! We go around and around on this issue. LOL I am copying and pasting your response (to email him), as it is much clearer and more eloquent than anything I have been able to state in our debates to date. Thanks so much! -- posted by Purpleflame » Myrrha - Re: I agree, but.... Well, invite him to join the discussion. Hee, hee. Really, I'm glad my position makes sense to you. Many people will not see it my way, and that's fine. So long as they respect my right to see it differently and don't attach judgement to the disagreement, there's no harm done.Blessings, Myrrha In response to message posted by Purpleflame: -- posted by Myrrha » Celandyne - In response to doing tarot readings over the phone. I also worked for Buckwood and found that it is possible to do a good tarot reading over the phone. But I also found from chatting with some of the other readers that a few are just in it for the money and have no idea of what they are doing. The caller takes a chance of getting a reader who is not really interested in giving them a good reading. I know most of the readers are genuinly interested in giving a good reading and will do their best for them.I quit doing readings over the phone because I picked up on the distress that some of the callers were in and it made me extremely depressed. I wanted to help these people and send them away feeling like they had gained some insight from the reading, but was left with a troubled mind worrying about the problems of too many people. -- posted by Celandyne
