I was wondering, if you say a spell in your head, but go through no ritual.. say just that you are walking down the street and say it in your head. Will it work? Not will it work, I know the answer will be if you believe it to. But, will if take effect even if you believe so? So I guess my question is do spells work while inside your head and not said aloud or through rituals?-- posted by ashtray1111

In response to message posted by ashtray1111:Some say yes some say no. This is the way I see it. I can after years of trying create sacred space just by being. Because I am in sacred space by simply visualizing in my mind a blue flame casting a circle all the way around me and the quarter guardians arriving as though called by the flame itself I can also inside that visualization cast my spell with no physical work. This is a version of working on the astral plane in your own astral temple. But, you first have to build that temple through years of work on the physical plane. saying an incantation without saying it outloud is known as using the Great Voice. It can be done in a physiclly set up ritual or inside your astral temple. For you I would recommend that you use the great voice in circle for at least a couple of years before you attempt astral work.

In response to message posted by ashtray1111:Ash there is only one law that protects us really and thats the Bill of Rights. It gives us a freedom of religion. We have been recognized by the IRS and the Military as a ligitimate religon. This can be seen in our ablity to get tax exempt status whenever we put together a temple, camp, or coven.
I dont know of any laws that have legislated Paganism specificly. I would check with the http://www.NAACP.org. I know that they have helped a lot of pagans with legal issues. You can also check with http://www.arrf.org/ Advocates for Religious Freedom.

We have several good ones that range from personal accounts of personal events to short stories that show through illiteration the path the writer found. I dont know how long its going to take me to make a desision. Im going to try to do it by this time tomorrow maybe even tonight I dont know. I just wanted everyone to know that I am working on narrowing it down to the top three and picking a winner. I may narrow it down to the top five and set up a poll for everyone to pick from. This is harder than I expected it to be

Hey guys, I know I usually try to publish an article a week. But, things have happened around here that have slowed that down. A week ago sunday I fell off the front porch when the hand rail gave way. I fell about four feet. I bruised my back, tail bone, and put a long scratch down my back around the curve of my shoulder blade. It took me a week to be able to sit in this chair with any comfort. Im still pretty stiff.This week my mother has taken the oldest 4 children to stay with her for a few days. I have the youngest two, and though its been very quite Im learning just how much the three oldest do help out around here. I just havent been able to find the time to think about the next article.
I promise though we will be back on track and I will have the last article in the energy and perception series posted by April 4th. Then we will start taking a look at some diffrent forms of Paganism starting with Chaos Magick.
If you have a form of Paganism you would like see discussed here please let me know.
