» LadyKelien - Thor

Thor is the Norse God of Thunder. He is the Son of Odin and often pictured in myth as being the brunt of Loki's Jokes. But, always seen as a God who could laugh at himself. Always the Warrior at heart, he carried with him a large hammer called Mjollnir that he used to bash in the heads of his enemies.

He is also perceived by many as a very viral God. His Sexual Prowess has been portrayed in Song, myth and Jokes even into modern times. He in fact has such popularity among Pagans that Thursday or Thor's day was named after him.

He rides in a chariot pulled by two goats showing not only that he has a connection to the sky and its thunder but to the earth as well. The Goat is a common portrait of the Male Gods in both Celtic and Roman Pantheons along with the Stag horned God and the Bull Horned God. Though Thor was not perceived as having horns himself, the goats pulling his chariot through the sky gives definite signs that he was not unfamiliar with the workings of the earth and its domain as well.

» LadyKelien - Isis

I almost forgot that I said I would do this. Yall will have to remind me when I dont post one at the beginning of the week.

According the the Website http://www.touregypt.net Isis is worshiped all over Egypt but a few cities pay special attention to her. She is known as The Great Lady, the God-mother, lady of Re-a-nefer; Isis-Nebuut, lady of Sekhet; lady of Besitet; Isis in Per Pakht, the queen of Mesen; Isis of Ta-at-nehepet; Isis, dweller in Netru; Isis, lady of Hebet; Isis in P-she-Hert; Isis, lady of Khebt; Usert-Isis, giver of life, lady of Abaton, lady of Philae, lady of the countries of the south," etc.

Isis is known as a great worker of magick. This can be proven in stories like the one where she created a serpent out of dust and spit, getting it to bite Ra so that he would reveil his most hidden name. He only told her because he was about to die from the poision. ONce he told her she uttered some more magical words that drove the poision from his system.

Apparently there are some simmilarities to Hebrew Mystism found in Egyptian Mystism. Both believe that magickal words must be said with a certain Tone of voice. Isis not only knew the magical words but know the right tone of voice to use.

It seems that Isis could take on the attributes of all the primative Goddess's as well as those who were only local deities. Bast and Hathor being just two of the Goddess' she immitated to perfection.

Dark Wolf feel free to add anything else to this you like. I just touched on a bit of what that website said. I couldnt find my Encyclopida of the Gods to look there.

» LadyKelien - MIMIR

I finally found my Encyclopida of the Gods and I always thought this one was interesting.

Mimir is of Nortic/Icelandic Origins. He is a God of Inspiration and Wisdom. He was worshpped during the Viking period between 700 AD until their Christinazation in 1100 AD. It is possible that He was Worshiped a bit earlier. There are no known centers of cults that followed him. Nor, is there any artwork associated with him though some of what has not be classified yet could possibly be him. The only way we have of knowing of his exsistance is through the Literary sources "Icelandic Codices" and "Prose Edda (Snorri)".

The Encyclopida of the Gods says of him. "An Aesir god who livesin the world of the Frost Giants. He guards the well of knowledge, filled by a spring that flows beneath the World Tree, Yggdrasil, and that is supplied from the primeval waters. The god Othink drank from the spring to acquire knowledge, having forfeited one of his eyes to Mimir. Said to be the wisest among the Gods. According to some sources he was sent as hostage to the Vanir in their war with teh Aesier and was killed by them. Some Authors argue that he is more properly a Giant than a God. Said to be accompanied often by the siletn god Hoenir. Mimir warns Othin of the final onslaught at Ragnarok."

The reason I love this one so much despite the limited information about him, is that it proves Disney does do at least a little research into its Cartoons. Altantis 2 was the first time I ever heard Mention of Ragnarok. Now they call Othin Odin, which is an acceptable translation, and their is no mention of Mimir. But, between this and the part about the Shishownie Wind Spirit, I was completely impressed by the research they put into that movie.
