My mind must really be in a fibro fog. How could I have missed Moonlight Madness at Suite 101? Gee, the moon does weird things to me and my fibromyalgia. Oh, well, there's always next year...

Marcella, I really enjoyed this article. I could see a picture through your words. It was like reading poetry. Thank you very much. I needed something refreshing to read this morning besides my email, messages about fibromyalgia, and other things that seem to be taking away my serendipity moments.

We once bought a beautiful home that had the entire front yard as a garden. Sure, it was beautiful in the fall and spring, but with two small children running around at that time, I didn't have time to figure out what was a bulb or a weed, and was constantly pulling up bulbs, while my kids picked the flowers. Growing up in Southern California meant dry spells, dry lawns, and just a few flowers around our home plus some fruit trees, and other typical plants of California. Suddenly, I was living in British Columbia, Canada and trying to learn all the different types of plants in my front yard, plus chase after two young children.

We put in a lawn, but left a lot of the plants scattered around it. Running barefoot, or in my case, walking barefoot in cool green grass feels wonderful. Even the beautiful parks of B.C. have lawns, and I enjoy the contrast of the plants, trees, and grass. Watering here during the summer is limited to only 2 days a week, and at certain hours, but that is just for lawns. Plants can be hand watered, and now that the rains have begun, our lawns are actually green again.

Thank you for such a refreshing article to read.

Thank you, Cynthia, I guess my garden writing may become more fanciful as I am less able to tend it. Still, I can dream and there is still the old garden I made outside my windows. How long it will last I have no idea at this point in time.

The only reason I found the 'Moon Ltght Madness,' plans was by visiting the editors page. Being in a fog myself, most of the time these days, I need to check in frequently. You might have been able to come up with something interesting from your Fibromyalgia page. Well, there is always 'Halloween." LOL.

I count myself lucky to live in the Northwest where for most of the year it rains. I know that some people would find it odd to enjoy grey skies but I believe I have turned into some kind of water creature. I don't even own an umbrella. Anyway, if it didn't rain so much the Pacific Northwest would not be as brilliantly green.

You mention water rationing in British Columbia. I thought they had all the water in the world. Sigh. Marcella

I'll have to skip Halloween this year for my articles. Writing every other week now means that my planning needs a bit more organization, and with the Rest-A-Thon occuring on October 25th, my next article which is before Halloween is on that subject. But I do have a Halloween page on my personal web site. And even a picture of me dressed up as a devil..*g...

The water reservoirs here in B.C. aren't very big, thus we have water rationing each summer. Can't understand it myself, but I think it is a government plot to keep us dehydrated and keep the trees green..*g...

» biogardener - Finally got to read this article

I must have missed this article on the Moonlight Madness special, even though I took part in it. I am caught up now, because I followed your link in one of my discussion threads.

Truate,

There are so may good articles to read. It takes me awhile to get around.

You might get the idea that my garden is fussy. It is really the opposite, controled chaos is more like it. I subscribe to the stuff and jam school of gardening.

I have been following, with horror, the distruction of your garden.
