» Bob_Ewing - The healing must begin now.

Well said. This terrible tragedy must not lead to more death and destruction but towards healing and reconciliation.

Thanks Bob, I agree that healing must begin now. Many people may not agree with what I wrote but there truly is no other way forward.

While I agree with the need to heal, I'm at a loss to understand what that has to do with stopping people like this from these actions? Are you really under the impression that our leaders have made absolutely no attempts to stop these fanatics through diplomatic means? These people have decided they hate us so much they're willing to die to kill innocent people just because those people are called "American". And you really think a reasonable discussion can change their minds??

The American Heritage Dictionary's definition of fanatic -- A person marked or motivated by an extreme, unreasoning enthusiasm, as for a cause.

It's the unreasoning part that'll trip you up.

I'm not talking about discussions. I am talking about going inside yourself and sending caring to everyone, no matter who. We can only change ourselves, we cannot change others.

Most of us do care about others. We prove it everyday....the media has only started reporting in-depth on it this week....but our depth of caring about others will not make them not hate us or lessen their acts of random violence. I don't want the people in this country I love to die just because a few are afraid of using a targetted military action.

And a one-sided peace is not peace, it's tyranny.

Peace is Peace no matter what anyone calls it, no matter how anyone describes its function.

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
