Liked your article. We need to protect our insects as they help us look after our gardens.
I invite you to have a read of my articles written last year on Suite on Insects and pesticides. Keep up the good work.

Very good article EXCEPT that I would love to have pictures of these various insects mentioned. I'm seeing more bugs in my garden this year than ever, but don't know the good ones from the bad. I am having some bad luck with new plants that I'm trying, and it may be the bugs.

Jane,
what a good idea.
I'll put an article together and attempt to identify the insects concerned.
Thanks for your input.

Unfortunately, I don't have an electronic camera. AndI don't know how I'd get pictures of flea beetles. they disappear as soon as you approach them.

Here is a plant identification site courtesy of Texas A & M University. It contains nice, clear images, including the infamous flea beetle.

June Bugs that is...boy do we have a crop of those big green irradescant beautys this year. Definitely a head turner when one buzzes by or in the plant you are working with at the moment.

Hello Treeman,
we don't have many bugs here at present as it is winter time and getting very cold.

Each year I buy packets of ladybugs and mantids from Home Depot. it makes me happy to know I can have a little ecosystem going to get rid of undesirable garden guests!
