Solving disasters economically: Re: Pool killed lawn

» desertblue - Re: Pool killed lawn In response to Pool killed lawn posted by Jan001:Hi Jan. This is a common occurance! Lots of people solve the dilemma by working WITH the ugly, messy hole. You can dry it out and then use the spot for another feature. You can put in pavers or bricks or flat stones to make the area a small, round patio. You can build up and put in good soil and make a planted area. You can dig down and put in a water feature/pond/fountain. You can put in river stones and tall grasses for a faux marsh look, or put in crushed granite gravel and large stones for a Zen garden (rake the crushed granite into those lines for authenticity). All of this can be done DYI for relatively cheap - just watch the HDTV cable channel for ideas, or attend those free classes at Home Depot. Trying to blend the spot in with the grass willjust make you frustrated -I'd say use this opportunity to be creative! -- posted by desertblue
