Hi Sue ! I loved 'A River Runs Through It' even though I really never got the symbolism suggested by it. The fly fishing scenes were great.

I'm not a fisherwoman at all but when I was married, my father-in-law had a place in the California desert with a small, stocked lake on the property. I deeply enjoyed sitting on the pier and dropping a line in and just kind of watching the setting or rising sun and the birds flying over. I never put a worm on the hook and in fact don't know if the line actually had a hook on it. Dad gave the pole to me fully understanding that my interest was purely for the relaxation. smile

Great article !

That's great!! My big claim to fishing fame was a perch that we used as bait to catch a bullhead which we used to bait the crabpot. Yikes!

Thanks for stopping by Heather! There's a lot of art and grace to fly fishing, trying to fool the fish. I'm not that coordinated.

favorite Oregon town, as we used to go there to ski. I've often looked at the lake signs as we headed up Mt. Bachelor to ski and wondered about them. Now you've really gotten my curiosity up!

Sounds like your father-in-law is a real fishing nut!

Appreciate all the links, Jerri
