We have quite a few smaller orchids in bark and bandini in our kitchen and living room, about knee high. Recently our Labrador Retreiver(Sheba) has taken to grabbing the green plastic planter pots and flinging them about the house!! She is only 1 year old(7 in dog years!) and LOVES to PLAY!! She is a prize dog. What do we do to keep her from going after the orchids? My wife says moving the orchids is definitly not the answer and getting rid of Sheba is definitly not the answer. What do we do? Please email me or call my wife at 805-659-0492. -- posted by VanceH » Orchidlady - Hello, Yes this is the right place to ask your question. I mu Hello,Yes this is the right place to ask your question. I must say you made me smile! First I would try and train her to leave them alone.. dogs are like children and they will learn what the word "NO" means. Another idea is to place some moth balls around the plants..or some pepper. You really need to teach her to leave plants alone, there are many house plants that are very poisonous like the common Pothos. It would be a shame if she decided to eat one of them.
