Orchid Questions??: leaves on the stem

I have two basic orchid. when they finished blooming, I trimmed the stems at high up instead of the bottom of the stems. Now I see some leaves coming out close to the top ends and even roots, too! They look very strange. Should I cut and plant them in a different pot?
