» nolbow - I need help with my adopted Orchids

I went to Lowes yesterday and found some poor dieing Orchids being discarded. I have always loved Orchids but I have been afraid to invest a lot of money in them when I know "nothing" about growing them. So . . . I adopted seven 3 inch pots and 1 4 inch pot with a dried up, sick looking plant in each. I purchased the bark potting medium and repotted them. I watered them well but then I "pruned" them. Hopefully I have not ruined them for life. Does anyone have any suggestions. I live in South Carolina US and have them on an enclosed screen porch out of direct sunlight.

Have I made things worse? What do I do next? Last but not least, can my new babies be saved?

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
