I had exactly the same conversation with my mother last year just before my parents 60th. Anniversary.She shouted at me as well, but then with my lousy hearing she always has to shout at me!
The computer and the printer were also mentioned so this is what she got... the monitor was a bit smaller (but she's working on that) but we did throw in a scanner as well. Now she spends more time on line than I do keeping tabs on the family.
She still shouts at me... I keep telling her she doesn't have to use all caps in Yahoo Messenger. Heaven help me now if I turn up with just flowers... she wants more gadgets!
Dad loves it as well. Gone are the days of having to shuffle the cards when he plays Solitaire.
