Yes, I do set a limit on what I spend per gift. Sometimes I send gifts per family or couple. Food baskets and jams and jellies work great. We live far away from family so I order and let the company do the mailing.

Also, join a Christmas club or budget so much per month toward gifts. Don't spend beyond what you've budgeted. Limit gift giving to your immediate family,i.e. parents,spouse,etc.
