Hi Elizabeth,What good business sense these railroad presidents had. I didn't know they had gotten into so many related businesses. I've enjoyed this series -- fascinating stuff!!

It surprised me too. But it shows how well they were planning for the future and stayed on top of technological advances. There are certainly enough companies today that don't plan nearly so well!-- posted by Gibson0817
