» flenard - The People of Geronimo

The article on the old warrior is interesting, and fairly accurate. However, it can not be overlooked that his people caught "hell" at Ft. Sill. To get an idea how they were treated, one needs to visit
the Indian grave yard there and focus on the ages of the individuals buried there. Over half of those buried there are children. This tells a lot...also information available at the fort depicts the life of these people after leaving their Arizona home. It would be interesting to research the types of dwellings these folks were forced to live in, and the types an amount of work
they did at and for the fort, that story seems to some how be omitted from the literature. The story of these people is a long and interesting affair; some times happy, but mostly sad and regretful.

Thanks,
Clennis

You are right, the saga of what happened to Geronimo's people after he was captured is sad. In some areas of the country it hasn't progressed much either. It sometimes makes me ashamed to have white skin.
