» CheyenneGold - A cannibal by choice Did you know that Keseberg vountarily remained a cannibal? When the snow began to melt, pieces of oxen and other animals were easily found and he could have eaten that, instead he continued to eat the human flesh because he said the other flesh was to tough for his taste and that he liked the human flesh better.-- posted by CheyenneGold » gret - Re: A cannibal by choice In response to message posted by CheyenneGold:Hi. -- posted by gret » K_J_L - Donner party Doing some geneological work recently, my wife found out she was a descendant of the John Snyder you mention in your article. That was an interesting suprise to her. It seems his son later went west as well, and just disappeared. Glad to see him mentioned in your article. Keep up the fine work!Kevin -- posted by K_J_L » Gibson0817 - Re: Donner party Thanks Kevin. It is always interesting to find out you are related to someone "famous." Our family is supposed to be related to Daniel Webster. Hope you stop by often!Beth -- posted by Gibson0817 » K_J_L - Re: Re: Donner party In response to message posted by Gibson0817:I will be, as I've always had an interest in the "old west" (and any American history as well) As far as my own family, I have a great grandfather who "went west" after the Civil War and traveled all over as an Indian agent-the Black Hills,SD; Sherman TX, got married in Medicine Lodge Ks and ended up in Centralia,WA. before going back east to Indiana for a pension. He was in all the spots I found fascinating at the times things were happening. It makes the history even more personal and interesting Kevin Lindsey -- posted by K_J_L
