In response to message posted by sillygirl36:So far there are not any over the counter medications that help OCD. They have done some research on Inositol in Israel, but it was on taking massive quantities and I think that it would need to be under a doctor's care. Besides, the large amounts of Inositol would probably be as expensive as a prescription. Inositol is a supplement, I think related to a B vitamin.
It is best to consult your doctor before taking any supplements. They can have side effects, just as prescription medications can.

I'm about to try Celexa for the first time. I'm hypersensitive to meds, so wish me luck! I'll let you know how it works for me.ps, I have tried Inositol powder in the past and it worked great. The problem was that it tended to be expensive for me, you need a lot of it, up to 18 grams a day. I may have to go back on that if the side effects from the other are too much. Dr. Fred Penzel has some good information on Inositol in his book.
Thanks,
Beth
