`Vazire and Funder reviewed data collected in 23 studies and saw something that other researchers hadn't fully appreciated: In all but two of the studies, impulsivity was closely correlated with narcissism.
That's why narcissists tend to be violent and lash out at real or imagined insults, typically one of the key blocks to achieving personal success: "They are simply overcome by impulses that they fail to contain."

This is very (and I mean very) old news. Numerous scholars have written extensively about the close association between impulsivity, self-destructive and self-defeating behaviors, and pathological narcissism.
