» MCUSA - Did anyone share this experience?
i told my therapist that my Nhsband never outright told me that i could not wear tight shirts, or make up, or that i couldn't see my friends or family....these things were just UNDERSTOOD as the relationship went along, couldn't figure out how he did it... i was so flattered that he just wanted to be with JUST me all the time...my therapist said that NPDs use brainwashing techniques....the same ones they used in the korean war....how scary is that!!!!!!!!!!!!-- posted by MCUSA

Think I gotta change therapist.I just dont feel like he's helping any. This is the forth visit...and he hasn't validated mt feelings and experience...other than my ex is just 'sick'.
But there were other things going on here..like you said...the Brainwashing!! I know Im not crazy..
I know how I feel and how I felt when I was with her...I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WITH HER IF NOT FOR THE BRAINWASHING..and that Carrot at the end of the stick (The thing I Desired of her and/or of the relationship)

In response to Brainwashing / Therapist posted by NRipped735:She may not be NPD, she may have one of the psycopathic personality disorders but trying to fathom which one could only be done by a medical expert.
She may be BPD,BORDERLINE A borderline case is a patient who is on the border between NEUROSIS and PSYCHOSIS, i.e. either one whose PSYCHOPATHOLOGY defies categorization or one whose mechanisms are psychotic but whose behaviour does not warrant her being treated as psychotic. The usage arises from the fact that diagnostic systems assume that neurosis and psychosis are mutually exclusive while clinical observation shows they are not.
The female variant of BPD is HPD Histrionic personality Disorder: The histrionic personality disorder is characterized by shallow and labile affect, self-dramatization, exaggerated expression of emotions, suggestibility, egocentricity, self-indulgence, and lack of consideration for others. These individuals may engage in inappropriate seductiveness and overconcern with physical attractiveness. They are easily hurt and seek continuous excitement, attention and appreciation.
What role did sex and sexual desire play in the relationship. If it had not have been there would you have been? She elicited what pushed your buttons and pushed em, you were hooked from then on in, she gave it to you just how you liked it, this gave her power, control and security. Time to let big head control little head and not the other way around.

read numerous books and websites on NPD this summer and read over and over that you have to make sure you're therapist is "well versed" (for lack of better words) in NPD...mine also said that group therapy works best, mine has a group but it's full and i'm on a waiting list, until then he is seeing me individually...it has been MOST helpful to hear him validate my feelings with all the information and experience he has with NPD....you might want to check around for another one...-- posted by MCUSA

In response to Brainwashing / Therapist posted by NRipped735:Ive always said in my postings here, that fuck the therapist and their diagnosis and that people give them to much credit because they are suppose to be " experts". If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck can u really mistake it for anything else. i mean Cmon people , us being on the receiving end of this shit and experiencing it first hand(which is something im sure these "experts" have not and spending countless hours researching etc as far as im concerned makes us the experts, so lets start by giving us a little credit and not rely so much on the "experts". NPD/BPD/ sociopathic/psychopathic,,, at the end much of it is the same anyway, so lets just sum it up as they are fckedup and if they display any type of the behaviour listed above then the label isnt near as important as putting on your running shoes and running like hell. Nripped, i dont think its near important to have the therapist label your ex(u already know anyway) as it is him/her recognizing your pain and helping u through it and it sounds like this one def isnt going to help u.. remember u have the best help possible already,,,,,,,,,this site and us. Just do yourself a favour and stay as far away from your ex as possible.
