This archived discussion is "read only".
» vborey - It's a movie You may or may not have heard about the paper clip project in Tennessee. It's a fascinating story: a middle school class started this project as a memorial to those who died in the holocaust. They collected paper clips from people all over the world to represent the sheer quantity of those who died. The significance of the paper clips - well, they were used as a sign of resistance in Norway during WWII. Paper clips originated in Norway and during the war, people wore them on their lapels to signify that "Vi binder sammen" - binders means paper clip in Norwegian, but it also means to bond, or unite. The message: We are united together (against Nazism).Check out the movie trailer for this upcoming Miramax film at : http://www.miramax.com/paperclips/ -- posted by vborey
