» CarolWallace - Hydrangea Lil, is this a new plant, or one that has bloomed for you before? Did you prune it?-- posted by CarolWallace » Jojo - Hi Lil Hi LilYou might find this article useful... Growing Hydrangeas - Beginner Style There are answers to many frequently asked hydrangea questions there, including a list of reasons why hydrangeas don't flower. -- posted by Jojo » firelady - non-blooming hydrangea In cold climates deciduous hydrangeas need some kind of winter protection, usually a wall or a fence. They prefer full sun, but will tolerate light shade. If your plant is in deeper shade, this may be one reason it hasn't bloomed. I had one that suffered from too little sun and refused to bloom. Moving it to a sunnier location helped. They also crave a lot of moisture, but a well-drained soil.-- posted by firelady
