my blue hydrangea bush didnt bloom last year. It survived a Maine winter and had good growth but never blossomed. Does anyone know why? Other hydrangeas (white) bloomed profusely. If I am supposed to be doing something maybe someone will know what that is..

Lil, is this a new plant, or one that has bloomed for you before? Did you prune it?

In cold climates deciduous hydrangeas need some kind of winter protection, usually a wall or a fence. They prefer full sun, but will tolerate light shade. If your plant is in deeper shade, this may be one reason it hasn't bloomed. I had one that suffered from too little sun and refused to bloom. Moving it to a sunnier location helped. They also crave a lot of moisture, but a well-drained soil.
