We live where the deer and rabbits love to crunch on my flowers, so I've learned which ones to plant and which need protection if I just have to have them. I've decided next year to do more container gardening.I know I'll still have to beware of my friendly critters (which I also welcome to my garden). I've still planted bulbs, but gave up on tulips a few years ago. Somehow the flower chewed off the top just doesn't give me much feeling of satisfaction! -- posted by jerrib
