» phyldot - poinsettias I bought six ponsettia's on the first week of December in the hopes I could take care of themwell enough that they would still be in good shape for the holidays. I bought them at Home Depot and actually they looked quite healthy at the time I purchased them. I put them in a fairly cool room with indirect sunlight and ernestly tried not to overwater them since i have a tendency to do just that.I would test the soil with my hand first and if they still felt rather damp I did not water them. Four of them were the off white variety and those were the ones that started to limp out on me first.I gave it my best shot but I am not very good with poisettias. I buy them every year and I dont know if my house is too hot or too cold , too much sun or not enough, it doesnt really matter , they just do not do well in the environment of my house!!!So I now have six limp and sickly looking plants whose leaves are falling off faster then autumn leaves on a windy day. Xmas is on the way and I think next year i'll buy silk ones. What did I do wrong? -- posted by phyldot
