» MrLion - Very Timely!

Nice article--as usual--and very timely. We were in Portland the weekend after Labor Day, and were quite impressed with the city. At the time, we wondered why there wasn't any train service to Boston--well, that problem's solved!

Best holiday wishes, and keep up the good work!

» jerrib - Great!

I'm glad to hear trains are making a comeback. Perhaps there was a blessing over the 9/11 tragedy - more folks are traveling trains!

Excellent article. Wish I could try the new run!

Hi Lynn! It's great to know that trains are making a comeback in your area! I love them myself, especially for travelling with children.

For those interested in Rail Travel in Canada, take a look at the links on my topic for info on Rocky Mountain Rail travel.

Have a wondeful New Year!
Regards,

» faithfulone - Good to know

Hello Lynne, Your informative and interesting article answered my questions about train travel to Maine. We may try it the next time we visit there.

We went by train over the Christmas holidays and found it economical and convenient.I think the food was a little overpriced for what you received on the route that we used. I'd like to sample some of the food you mentioned! Take care.
