» Barbara Nicholson Bell - Your great-grandmother

Mark, can you tell me where in Central New York your family lived? I live in that area and my family's roots go back to 1840 in Central New York. I would love to know if there is a connection between us!

» aggie80 - My roots

My father and several generations of his ancestors lived in Seneca County, NY. In addition to Swarthout surname there were Stephens, Murphy, Fairchild, Smith and Stockwells in the mix.

I'm a F'lake! You might want to check out the NYFingerLakes-L@rootsweb.com mailing list, lot's of interesting stuff!

In response to message posted by aggie80:

Well, that's just really cool!

My mother's family settled around the Utica area, from Wales. But my father's family is from the Cortland area (I am just beginning to search his line).

My husband's family is from Canadaigua, which is a "Finger lake" town.

Do you still live in NY State?
