What an interesting idea, Mark. Do a lot of families choose to incorporate in order to preserve their history?

It just makes me think of all the flea market photos - those unclaimed, unknowable people whose pictures ended up on the dollar table at the local antique mill. I like to flip through them, but it's depressing to think of how they must have left family hands, through whatever disaster of history and strain.

That certainly is one main reason to incorporate. And by creating an entity that survives longer than an individual it provides continuity.

Another one of the reasons is to create a sense of identity and association. And having a legal entity often makes it easier to acquire facilities for reunions and other gatherings.

Thanks for asking!
