» art48 - celtic rock group banshee reel

a few years ago i had the pleasure of not only hearing a nz group named banshee reel but also having them stay at my home for a few weeks when a canadian tour fell through. i later embarked on a few travels of my own and unfortunately lost my copy of their cd. does anyone out there know these folks and if so can they help me replace the lost music ( my memory was jarred when i recently found out another nz group who i also had the pleasure of meeting about the same time -the muttonbirds are coming this way shortly) thanks - art48

Hi there

it is your lucky day/year. Oddly enough I too have mislaid my copy of the album and was checking the net to see if i could find one. my one advantage over you is that Chris O'Connells brother is a friend of mine. I saw Chris at a party a month or so ago but didnt talk to him but like you, it sent me on a search of the cd. so, i would be happy to persue this for you if you are interested. get back to me...i know this is a long shot cos your message is so old, but you never know.
Cheers
Sally

Hi Sally
I too have been in the search for a copy of either or both Banshee Reel CDs, which of course led me here since there's very little out there on the net. I wonder how many copies of the CD's are in circulation?? I have fond memories of BR playing in Palmerston Nth when I was at Massey University '93 to '95. Can you please let me know if you came across a source of the CD's. Its a shame this site doesn't allow direct emailing... that I can see anyway. Look for your reply in 2 years ;-)!!

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Cam

Time moves slowly - You were worried that I might not see your message. Some other unfulfilled quest pointed me to suite 101 and your reply. Now I must wonder if my reply will make it's way to your inbox! I am definitely still interested in obtaining a copy of the Banshee Reel lp. I've made a few enquiries in the last couple of years and it appears nigh on impossible to find it here in the Great White North. I know the group itself has long since passed into history - I hope most are still involved in music as they were a talented bunch. Hope to hear from you- one can always use a musical confederate!
