Yes, yes, so we see stuff about The Feelers and Neil Finn and the rest. But where is information on up-and-coming local bands? For example, Undercarriage, Tadpole, Delta, Zed, Weta, Mailbox Skipole, Don't, Wash, and more. There should be more info/articles/links on NZ MUSIC, but I think the up-and-coming bands need more concentration on. New Zealand is not a very good market place for the music industry and us New Zealanders need to support the local bands in order to help them get to where they want to be. I'm in a band myself, and I know how impossible it seems to get recognised, especially as a "New Zealand band". I feel I have rambled on, but I just believe that local up-and-coming NZ bands deserve their chance for recognition, not the bands that already have it.

NZ music looks to be in good hands heading into the 21st century! Although we'll be scraping to find another Crowded House or Exponents, there are some young bands with a lot of potential that's about ready to be unleashed. Two of the biggest are Zed (a great sounding bunch of lads from Christchurch) and a little known group called DAYTURA. They are from Hamilton, and have the reputation for being a little long-winded (their album is over an hour long, yet only has six songs on it) but they have the most divine mellow sound, really easy to listen to, and the sort of music that just grows on you.

Since you all want to know about new stuff, I thought you might like to have a listen to some of my songs. You're obviously avid Kiwi music connesieurs, so I would appreciate your opinions.
You can access free MP3's for download from:

PS: I hope they work as links - if not, try:

Hokio are Australian based as I understand it, so why don't the Aussie readers tell us more about the band.
