In response to message posted by jacqui_wapshott:

I'm starting a flower garden on my terrace.(It's really just a large fire-escape.)We had great success w/our vegetable garden last summer, but flowers are new to me. My boys & I sowed a haphazard scattering of seeds last month. We have
quite a few large & medium size terra-pots & a half dozen window boxes. I realize that they require different treatment, just like people.
Since the little sprouts have emerged, I've been all over the Internet looking for care instructions. The seed packets give very little information. We are on a low budget, so I don't want to spend $ on tons of books. Also, time is
limited, so I thought (hoped!) that the web would
save me time. So far I've found very little on the
subject, even Copernic came up short. I'm looking for feeding & watering specifics, what can be crowded & what can't? Am I looking in the wrong places? Am I lacking in the proper lingo? It's MAY, for crying out loud! Am I the only one looking for advice on growing flowers? Please, if any one knows of a good site, or has some ideas-
I need some. My Zinnias are in danger of root-rot!
