» Daffyclay - Daffodil tour

Lynda,

I nominated my favorite daffodil, Killearnan for your contest.

This week I put up a pictorial mid winter daffodil tour on suite101.com

You and your readers are invited to visit and take the tour.

Killearnan is one of the featured daffodils on that tour.

Thanks

» Gary - need your help

Hi Lynda and New Zealand,

Below is a picture sent to me last week by a Bot. Garden, do your readers know what it is?

My guess was Trimezia fosteriana, but I was wrong.

Gary.

» Daffyclay - Yup!

It doesn't have six petals, so you have to write me off. I don't know either.

» biogardener - Petal number

I think that it does have 6 petals, but they are not all the same size. For some reason it reminds me of a passion flower. Maybe it is related to it. It certainly rivals it in originality.

» Daffyclay - six

traute,

Yes. It does have six petals. I was just being a wise guy and that was my way of saying "it's not a daffodil - therefore I don't know."

» Daffyclay - Daffodil tour

I didn't have anyone say that they finished the daffodil tour, which was the suject of my article published on January 21, 1999. I received three private emails that all stated that they enjoyed what part they were able to get to, but had to come back and finish it later. It was a fun thing to do, but sure took a lot of work to put it together.
