» LyndaH - absolutely!

I can't wait to farewell shift work forever! (Although I will miss those sunny days in the garden.) There are already beautiful, almost black tulips - I really loved the half-dozen I planted this spring. They were stunning. I wish I could say the same for the sorry state of my garden at the moment - we haven't had a decent downpour in weeks. summer! gah!

» CarolWallace - Modesty

You notice Lyndais too modest to tell us all what that new job is. But she is going to become one of those rarified beings that we writers love to court - an editor of a big gardening magazine!!!! Congrats, Lynda - and be sure to tell us all about it!

» LyndaH - errr....

Not quite an editor just yet lol! I'm going to be Assistant to the Editor, at the New Zealand Gardener Magazine. I think the phenomenom is called "a dream come true". I will be able to talk about gardening 24 hours a day.... it really does sound awful, doesn't it! lol!

» CarolWallace - Still

It still makes you a big shot in my book - and I won't feel at all sorry for you if you complain about work!

» Gay_Klok - How exciting

How exciting, Lynda! Did you know that a NZ TV company is probably oming to Tassie in April to film Tasmania in Autumn? I was asked [by Tasmanian rep.] if hey could come down to "Kib". The Acers are showing signs of turning already so probably our Autumn show will be over! Crazy weather!

» LyndaH - gaye...

Is it "Maggie's Garden Show" or a holiday programme?? How exciting! Can't wait to hear more. And see more too!

Wasn't the Sydney to Hobart just appalling this year - it seemed to get worse and worse as it unfolded.

» Gay_Klok - Lynda

I am Gay without the e, a little irritation for me as my real name is Gabriel :-]

Yes, I think that is the name of the show.

Things are better today - it is such a marvellous day weather wise, absolutely sparkling. We have had a flyby of 9 planes in formal position and and they have just returned with only 3, symbolising the 6 sailors who were left behind. The race "King of the Derwent" is in progress, the sailors said to go ahead with the traditional yacht race because they would "sail it for their cobbers". It is perfect sailing conditions, ironical!

Off to the country garden soon, looks like great weather to get the gardens sorted out [so much dead heading] for Feb garden visit and the New Zealanders :-]

» LyndaH - oops!

Sorry Gay! My de-facto mother-in-law's name is Gaye, perhaps I am mispelling out of habit (flailing desperately for an excuse lol). People always spell my name Linda, which drives me nuts too, so I apologise humbly.

Maggie's Garden Show is enormously popular in New Zealand - you'll be flooded with kiwi visitors after the screening. It's practically an institution!
