Rev. Jones, thank you for the comprehensive overview of metaphysics.

For the past 34 years I have been a New Thought student. I have taken time daily to remain open minded as I study and seek to understand the literal, historical, implied and metaphysical meanings of the Bible and the universal principles of life that are found in the Christian faith.

I have learned to deeply appreciate the ground breaking metaphysical understanding, writings and teachings of New Thought pioneers like Pineas Parkhurst Quimby, Dr. Ernest Holmes, Dr. Emily Cady and Myrtle and Charles Fillmore about the Christian Faith.

Their teachings have helped me to sincerely appreciate the vital importance of the sound literal and historical Christian upbringing I received from my fundamentalist parents. They did not have much of the scientific knowledge that we have today. My father was a Pentecostal minister. He had very limited exposure to metaphysical teachings. What he knew he shared with me.

Through the study of Christian metaphysical teaching I have also learned to respect, honor and truly value other religions that are different from mine.

I have learned that true worship is found in the daily practical application of the universal laws of life and genuine love for all human kind.

To me Jesus Christ was the master metaphysician. He is my Savior and Way-shower

I hope and pray that through your website the minds and hearts of many Christians and non-Christians will be open to living the spirit-filled life that Jesus taught and demonstrated.

Blessings, love and peace,

In response to message posted by DrThomas:

Thank you so much, Dr.Thomas, for your kind words! I, too, agree that Jesus was the Master Metaphysician and was going to call this site Practical Christianity, but there are still so many people who balk at the idea of Christianity as a metaphysical teaching/philosophy, which I truly believe it is! I hope to incorporate many of the teachings of Christ and the Bible into my future articles, and thank you again for your support in doing so!

» DrThomas - Practical Christianity

Rev. Jones, I am grateful for those New Thought ministers who feel a call to bring the inner spiritual meaning of our Judeo-Christian heritage and faith to other Judeo-Christians.

This is what has impressed me about the work of Dr Holmes, Dr. Cady, and the Fillmores.

Chapter 22 of the Science of Mind text by Dr. Holmes made a huge difference in my life.

Often we get so caught up in the Mental Science and Philosophy that we forget that the common people heard Jesus and his message gladly.

My call is to keep the New Thought message of Practical Christianity and spiritual mindedness simple and Bible based.

If we can help to lovingly unravel and eradicate the error states of mind, which have cause the spiritual blindness and spiritual death that I once knew; I believe we will make a great contribution to bringing the manifestation of the kingdom of God here on earth.

You may want to look at our website listed below.

Blessing,
