An Heretical Easter Story - Did Jesus Really Die?Read the article this discussion is about

» oswin14 - re' ' an heretical easter story' .... not heretical, if one was a christian of the coptic church - the copts never found it necessary to believe in a physical resurrection; indeed, neither did jesus! rather, we must attend closer to the nature of the gospels - who wrote them, when, and in what order? the biggest question being, when compiled, who chose what was to become 'history' - why; and what was discarded????? a question of my own now - is it possible that joseph of arimathea was actually two people - perhaps father and son? he appears, otherwise, to have lived a very long and active life etc.-- posted by oswin14 » RichardSpeaks - Re: re' ' an heretical easter story' .... You are well read, and, indeed, correct in your assertions. However, most mainline Christian believers would never consider Coptic, Gnostic, or any of the other so-called offshoots of the Roman Catholic and Protestant streams to be valid, or even historical. If you were to ask an evangelical Christian the questions you ask in this discussion, they would advise you to get out from under the spell of Satan and to accept only the King James Version of Scripture as not only accurate to the letter, but the only truly God-ordained English translation. Anything else, including the Duoay Catholic English version of the Latin Vulgate, is heresy. But then, you already know that. Thanks for your comments and questions.-- posted by RichardSpeaks
