From New Birth to New Thought: Heresy At Its Best!Read the article this discussion is about

» Zanzi - Thank you for writing about New Thought I had never heard of this church in Denver, although I lived there for 10 years not too long ago.Yet, I do have a question. You stated "New Thought teaches that there is but one power, one presence, and one life. That very life is my life, your life, right now. There is no part of us that is not God incarnate. For God to send any one of us to hell would be to send a part of Him/Her/Itself. After all, as Jesus said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” Awakening to the Truth of our Being is the Ultimate Goal of New Thought. We are Spirit Expressing, and more interesting, we are Spirit Experiencing. There is only One of Us here, in many guises, many activities, many relationships, playing, as it were, an incredible game." Please clarify for me the following... 1. Do you truly believe that life is just a game? 2. If there is truly only One of Us here, then how can s/he/it manifest as Hitlers and Mother Theresas? Thanks! -- posted by Zanzi » RichardSpeaks - Re: Thank you for writing about New Thought In reply to your first question: I highly recommend you read a wonderful, well-written and well-crafted book called "The Game of God: Recovering Your True Identity" by Arthur B. Hancock. In it, he asks, and answers, this question: Whatever His/Her/Its motives, how could a loving God create a universe which is capable of this kind of cruelty: death, concentration camps, torture, child molesting, murder, rape, war, disease..." and the list goes on. It would take too much space to provide the answer here, but I will be writing a series of articles based on Hancock's book after the first of the New Year. Hope you'll be reading them. The book will also answer your second question as well. Thanks for your response! -- posted by RichardSpeaks
