» scuba_steve - self-forgiveness Richard,Thanks as always for your clear and thought provoking writing. Coincidentally, I am now reading, for the second time, Don Miguel Ruiz's "The Four Agreements". He touches in his own way on the idea of self-forgiveness and its connection with living more at peace. I enjoyed your article and look forward to learning more from your writing in the future! -- posted by scuba_steve » kedito - Re: self-forgiveness Thank you once again for a thought-provoking article. I really needed this one today; just last night I was talking to a close friend about a grudge I can't seem to let go of. She, like you, pointed out that I was poisoning myself and I needed to move on.Thanks again, -- posted by kedito » HeadZenCards - Seeking and Finding Thank you for your article. There is a fine line between seeking and finding, as fine as the difference between heaven and hell.To seek Great Mind with thinking mind is certainly a grave mistake. To find What Is with nothing in mind is liberation itself. Best Wishes, -- posted by HeadZenCards » RichardSpeaks - Re: self-forgiveness The Four Agreements is one of the best books I've read in recent years. As it turns out, this coming Sunday (July 13, 2003), I am presenting the Sunday message at a great little Unity church on the Oregon Coast. The message is partly based on Ruiz' book, particularly 'Be impeccable with your words.' How we speak to ourselves, as you know, is key to how we interact with the world. Changing our words changes our lives. Thanks as usual for your comments. -- posted by RichardSpeaks » RichardSpeaks - Re: Re: self-forgiveness A person I know once said, "God does not forgive." "What?" I retorted. "That's right. God does not forgive because God does not condemn." Ah... There's the key. As we cease condemning, forgiveness no longer is necessary. All we need to do is withdraw condemnation. Easy? Hardly. Worth it? Indeed. Practice? Continually.. Begin? Now. With whom? Self first, then the world.Have I succeeded 100 per cent? Yeah, right!!! But I know the path and, as rough as it is sometimes, I will stay on it because I'm selfish enough to want inner peace. My best to you and thanks for the comments. -- posted by RichardSpeaks » RichardSpeaks - Re: Seeking and Finding You make excellent points, my friend. Thanks for the comments.-- posted by RichardSpeaks » HeadZenCards - Re: Re: Re: self-forgiveness In response to message posted by RichardSpeaks:Is there one path? Isn't one person's setting aside another person's valuable one step back before the next step forward? Just Wondering, -- posted by HeadZenCards » RichardSpeaks - Re: Re: Re: Re: self-forgiveness Spoken like a true ZenHead! And it means just what it says usually.-- posted by RichardSpeaks
