» RichardSpeaks - Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Cardinal Torquemada In response to sacred insights"I do not understand how his death on the cross and resurrection freed us from that kind of law." The only law the Bible is really dealing with is the Levitical, or Mosaic, Law, known as the law of sin and death. That is the law that Jesus came to do away with. That's why his followers were persecuted by "the Jews." The Jews saw the movement as a threat to the very foundations of Judaism. And they had good reason to be wary. They had been attacked, threatened, chased out their homelands enough times to be cautious of anything that even looked like a threat. But all that notwithstanding, the only law that Jesus came to do away with was the Levitical law. Nothing else. He didn't, but what the heck. I like Christianity anyway. It has so many holes in it, one can throw balls through them. I like that too. Makes for interesting chat. -- posted by RichardSpeaks
