Makes sense to me... And actually Spiritualism borrows from a variety of teachings as well as having its own literature.

Growing and adapting is a good thing IMO, and although Spiritualism does have its principles and some basic core beliefs re spirit communication and the afterlife it too does grow and change with new religious, philosophical ideas and scientific research.

Like New Thoughters there are many Spiritualists who consider themselves Christian but are not traditional or Fundamentalist in their views. Like New Thought people choose the kind of Spiritualism that works for them It is interesting how both these faiths are for many a good alternative to the more restrictive traditions that allows freedom of choice in terms of one's spiritual choices.
