You'll enjoy this (I hope):

This morning, while waiting for a city bus, I was approached by a Jehovah's Witness. Pretty young woman, mid twenties, I would guess. She asked if I had ever read Watchtower magazine. Of course I have, I told her. We began to chat since I had a few minutes before the bus arrival. I mentioned that I had been carrying on a dialogue with you and asked her how she felt about mainline Christianity, in all its forms. She said, "They have all misinterpreted the Scriptures. We came into being to help reshape and reinterpret God's Word." And she went on to tell me how her Truth was the only Truth.

My Mormon friends and my Catholic friends all say the same thing: we have the Truth.

In fact, none of you does! Truth is unknowable, if there is such a thing. We are all students, especially those of us who claim to be teachers.

As far as playing craps with my salvation, if God really would create a creature that could do that (and I'm repeating myself here), I would want nothing to do with that god. I remain firm and will never yield to Christian nonsense again.

Have a great weekend! I am going to the beautiful Oregon Coast to present the New Thought message to a wonderful little Unity Church there. They have asked me back on a monthly basis for the past five years. This weekend begins my sixth.

I know that you and I are both "Safe in the Lord," even if you don't accept that.

Hey Richard.....

Thanks for taking the time to converse with me. This is something then, is it not?

Look, I realize I am in your topic, discussing the things which you may not agree with as I do, or say a Mormon or even a RC. This is acceptable with me.

I would like to point out that it is not my truth that I speak of. It is simply what the Bible declares for itself. Heck, it doesn't need my help. After all, Christianity uprooted a ruthless empire and turned an intolerant militant world into a world of human rights and freedoms.. But, I'm getting past myself here...

As for the JW... They reject Jesus as the Son of God and as God. Yet, I can take their own corrupted works (their Bible-just twisted from ours to fit theirs) and show to them in their own Bible that clearly states, from their own words, that Jesus is the Son of God and is God.

You know, I can do this because it took much research and many many mindless hours of pouring over their foolish doctrines, taken from our works the Bible. After all of this study, which I resent doing because I hate to have to read such crude and worthless material, let alone trying to stay awake at the same time and absorb it all. So much wasted time and always seems futile, for when I confront them, only their selfish pride stops them.

Well anyway, everytime they come to my house, I invite them in and ask them: Will you listen to me if I prove to you Jesus was the son of God and is God? They always say sure. So quickly I go straight for the killer verse. I say, "oh, do you have one of YOUR bibles? They always say, sure! So I open it and go straight to their verse in the Gospel of John and show them in their written works. Jesus is the son of God and is God.

They always storm out of the room huffing and puffing. You know, it is so sad! Yet too bad because on their judgment day they will in no wise refute that someone (myself at least) showed to them TRUTH from their own works...... (our truth they reject.) Such ignorance and foolishness. But such is the way with mankind.

Can truth be known? Absolutely. Are you not going to the Oregon coast? Are these messages real. They are if you have responded to them and you have. Do we both not belong to Suite101? Let us not confuse issues and what is reality. Nothing is hidden as all things are revealed.

You make for good conversation Richard. Let us then remember that, indeed you were patient with me in your topic and that I endured coming here taking the risk in knowing you could have as easily rejected me. Have you? I don't think so. I know I have not you. So enough of preaching and teaching. Life moves onward!...

Enjoy the Oregon coast, for I wished I was there myself. Seems we can agree to that truth, can we not?

God bless you my friend...

Have you actually read all of the above discussion? Then you, too, deserve a holiday! And I'll add a little message for boanerges here, if you don't mind:

When I speak of Truth, it's with a capital "T" which means Ultimate Truth. Relative truth, such as going to the Oregon Coast, both of us writing for Suite101, I spell with a lower case 't' so as to distinguish one from the other.

In the meantime, remember this: even physics knows that this world is not solid. In between the tiniest particles is vast amounts of empty space. There is more nothing than something. So, when speaking of truth, Ultimate or relative, we must use caution. Even the Cosmos itself is an illusion!

Hello! Thanks for posting. Y'know, I spent many years defending my New Thought life call from especially those who knew I was a former Christian fundamentalist. Now, I no longer defend; I simply have fun with it. I realize that the Spirit I trusted in those days is the same Spirit I trust now. What has changed is my personl dogma! Spirit hasn't, right???

And yes, the weekend at the Coast was and always is memorable. I speak every third Sunday from April through October at Unity By The Sea, Gleneden Beach Loop, Gleneden Beach, Oregon. Perhaps you can come visit sometime. You can reach them by phone/voice mail at 541-764-2030 and online at www.glenedenbeach.org. You can email the board president, Pat Neal (a wonderful person!), at pneal@centurytel.net

Much love and joy to you!!
