» Jo Murphy - Hey?

Laura,
Have you tried a Wacom Tablet?
I got one because my drawing students had them and kept asking me questions.
Cor mate!
They work pretty fine.
You can trace and so you don't need to be able to draw the simplicity is enthralling.

And that is from someone who didn't want to get one,
Jo

I did get a graphics tablet. So far I don't have enough desk space to start using it. (House renovations have been ongoing since February and I've been shifting everything around to make space for them when they decide to surprise me and actually show up). Anyway, I got it just for tracing all my collection of clippings. My hand drawing is pretty limited. Though I'm drawing a collection of stick figure grrls to use as greeting cards. It's kind of fun and it really doesn't matter how dorky they look, they only have to please me.

Hey I wasn't being funny when I spoke about Drawing Dragons I had forgotten that Dragons are special for you.

So any way I have written this article and I thought you might like to drop a few doodles our way?
What's a Wacom?

I think it would be fun to see your drawings.

stick figure grrls

I am sure they are not dorky but hey that would make them even more fun!

» biogardener - Wacom Tablet

Would you believe I got the Wacom Art Pad II for $10 in a secondhand store last week? The package was missing the diskette with the software, but I downloaded the driver from the Wacom website. I don't have time to learn to use it right now, but my husband tried it out to make sure it works.

I am busy preparing for four art shows this autumn. For one of them, I have not even painted to pictures yet, and for all of them I have to frame the pictures. I also am teaching several workshops. The first one is a 4-hour one this Saturday for particants of all ages and all levels of ability, from preschoolers to high school teachers, and there is no telling how many people will show up. I love it! The bigger the better.

I love to scan children's work from my classes or to take digital photos. They make great illustrations for my Young at Art topic.

I would believe that - some people are either given it or buy it, and then don't know how to get started.
I hope to write a short free class just so that people get started. If that happens I would love you to accomnpany me on the journey Truate, I would like Laura to come to if she wanted to.

One day the mood will take you over!

Do you ever make your own ceramic frames?

I am sure you do love it. What kind of class will it be painting - collage?

Yes - I scan the kids work and give them a website each - but they are weekly students. I like them to see how they grow.
Thanks Traute I sincerely hope to Wacom it with you when you are ready!

I'll come along Jo. Give me some idea of when. The stick figure grrls are hand drawn, without the tablet, then I scan them into a jpeg or gif file.

My graphics tablet isn't that same brand. I bought it on sale at Radio Shack. I thought it was going to be $10 but the ad was misleading and it was only 10$ off as a mail in rebate. I bought it anyway cause I really wanted to try it by then.
