You never know, Anne. I might win the coveted title of "Pumpkin Laureate" or do you think I am out of my gourd to set such a lofty goal? LOL

So, how fast does a 600lb pumpkin go? I had no idea Keene had made it into the Guiness Book. They put Las Vegas to shame.

Great article and the links were wonderful! Thanks!

Hi Tina,

Has Keene ever checked with NASA to see if they can see all that pumpkin light from the space shuttle? Now that would be a lot of Pumpkins.
As for making boats out of pumpkins and putting motors on them --I thought all the crazy people were next door to me in California.

Hi Tara,
I don't know how fast a 600lb pumpkin goes, I think they use bass boat motors. I think Keene started the contest for the most lit jack-o'-lanterns. They didn't break their old record this year, but they gave it a good try! Thanks for stopping by. smile

Hi Earl,

I wonder -- wouldn't that be something if they did see the pumpkins from the shuttle?!?!?

Yes, we New Englanders do a good job of presenting ourselves as conservative stick-in-the-muds, but lurking under our staid exteriors lurk our true wild and crazy spirits yearning to sail pumpkins down the river. LOL

Thank you for stopping by, Earl. smile

Hi Roslind,

I'm sorry you missed Halloween this year. I can see you didn't miss the spirit of this festive holiday. I'm glad you liked the article. Can you imagine paddling down the river in a canoe. Not right now, though. At Halloween, we still had warm days, now they are frigid. I wouldn't be surprised if the river froze over. But the festive spirit goes on anyway, right?!?! Thank you, Roslind. smile
