» earlytimes - living in the wild

Hi Tina,

Are you sure you don't live in the wild? If you had filmed all this activity you could have sent it to one of those Saturday morning wildlife shows and given them a half season of episodes. What do you think happened to those poor ducklings?

Hi Earl,

It does seem that I must live in the wilds with all the activity in my yard this year! I have since learned that some of it, such as the visit from the bear, may have been caused by the drought. The wild crops, such as berries, were as hard hit as the cultivated crops with this terrible drought. As a result, a lot of animals had to leave their normal areas in search of food and water.

I'm afraid the ducklings may have fallen prey to a fox, coyote, fisher cat, or some other animal. I know it's the way of nature, but it sure is sad.

I wish I had video tape of all my wild visitors!! Hmmm ... maybe next year...

Thank you for stopping by and posting. smile

Oh Tina,
I loved reading about your critter experiences. I would have loved to have scene the bear. At a safe distance, of course. LOL! You write very descriptive. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Tina,
Are you sure you don't live in a game reserve--or a zoo ? Wow. What fun you must have. I though I was in heaven with all the squirrels and birds here. Thanks, Mary

Hi Barb,

I'm sorry for the delay in responding. I must be losing my mind -- I thought I had posted here already!!

Seeing a real live black bear is a treat, but as you said, from a safe distance. I'm glad you dropped by. Thank you for your nice comments! smile

Hi Mary,

I know I don't live in a game reserve, but there are times I think I live in a zoo due to the craziness of the two legged critters around here! LOL

Seriously, I have truly enjoyed watching all the visitors to my yard. It has been a great treat and I have learned a lot in the process! Thank you for visiting -- it's alway great to see you here. smile
