Hi Virginia,
You piqued my curiosity, so I did a quick search. North Carolina colonists certainly were active. I'm not sure which incident you had in mind, but I found this very interesting:
May 16, 1771: Battle of Alamance. 1,100 Militia of Royal Governor Tryon defeated 2,000 Regulators, ending the War of the Regulation. First battle against Britain fought in the colonies. (Alamance)
The Struggle for Independence in North Carolina

Those Regulators were something else. It would seem that there are a lot of stories of rebellion that should share the spotlight in history with Sam Adams and the Boston Tea Party. Writers of the Pine Tree Riot claim the reason why the Boston Tea Party is so well known and not the other events such as the Pine Tree Riot, is that they had better historians who secured their place in history!!

This has been very interesting. Thank you, Virginia!

Thank you, Jerri! I agree with you that there are a lot of state history facts that are not widely known. If you see my response to Virginia above, there is more about another state! I love history!
I will look forward to your return visit!

Hi Mary,
Knowing you as I do, the British would have been in for it if you had been a colonist during this period!! Thank you for reading and commenting. I am always happy to see you, my friend. Happy Easter!

Hi Mary Ellen,
I love your comment. It's very interesting to read your reaction since you are not from the US. I enjoyed researching and writing this, and now I am really enjoying the comments! Thank you!
I wish you and your family a Happy Easter!

Hi Renie,
Next time, you will see that they got "very" ticked off. Now this is what happened -- oops, almost gave it away. LOL

I love your butterfly flying around the flowers in your signature. You always come up with great signatures!

I also see you have a new article up, so I'm off to read it. Thank you for stopping by. :-)
