Hello Betty,

I would love to collect dolls. Space and money are the reasons I don't!

Hi Renie,
Thank you. I think the Annalee dolls run a wide price range. But they are so cute! I hope you enjoy exploring.

Hi Jerri,

I'm glad you enjoyed the article. I also was impressed with the way Annalee and her husband were able to take a hobby and turn it into a thriving business. It's a great "up by your bootstraps" success story!

Thank you for your kind words. You always boost my spirits!

» Red - Tina, sorry I...

was so tardy in getting over to read this intriguing article. You have done a excellent job and the links are sooo interesting.

I worked for an auction company for many years and saw some remarkable antique dolls pass through the sales.

Alas, I only have one doll in my collection. She sits on my night table. She has a composition body and porceline hands, feet and head. She is gorgeous. Money and space doesn't permit me to have others.

I didn't realize that Annalee dolls had originated as a hobby in the creator's home. This proves that we never know what we can do until we try. It is nice to live in countries where free enterprise is a way of life.

Thanks for sharing the interesting history of Annalee Dolls. Now, I must go back and sign up for the contest.

» pantazis5 - Hello Christina,

I live in NH. I was born in Lancaster and now reside in the southern part of the state. I have never been fond of Annalee dolls though I am a doll collector. However, I have been meaning to take my children to the Factory in the woods. Your review is wonderful and I will definetely be going there this summer. Thank you and Now I will go and check out the rest of your reviews.

Hi Mary,

Please don't apologize. I'm glad to see you whenever you can make it over. I know how hectic things can get -- there just are not enough hours in a day!!

Your doll sounds wonderful! Money and space are also the reasons I don't have a doll collection --but I do enjoy looking at the photos of dolls. There's an antique tv program shown locally. Every so often, they will show a really old doll. They are so beautiful!

Thank you for stopping by, my friend.

Hello Mary Ellen,

A fellow New Hampshirite -- how wonderful! I also live in the southern part of the State. I know what you mean about having intended to get to see the Doll Factory in the Woods. There are so many places to go here in NH, and so much to see, it's more a matter of finding the time to do it all!

Welcome to Suite101! Your Special Education ( http://www.suite101.com/welcome.cfm/10060 )topic is very interesting. Such sad stories.

Thank you for dropping by. I hope you will visit again.

» Red - Fantastic..

Tina, I remembered reading this article last year and thought I would bring it forward in case someone was looking for a great article to read. Also, someone may be looking for a special doll for a special little girl.

I have added to my doll collection last year. I won two porcelain dolls this year. One is a replica of a little girl in Nova Scotia who was terminally ill. The other is a native doll. Unfortunately, they are still in the boxes because I don't have room to display them but one day I hope I will.

A great read. Glad I remembered this one.

Hi Mary,
You are so thoughtful -- thank you!!!

Your dolls sound wonderful. Doll collecting and miniatures are two areas I would love to collect. I love porcelain dolls!

Again, thank you for visiting Annalee again! :-)
