I won't take that bet, PJ. If we can't hold honest elections on US soil, what makes anyone think it's possible in occupied Iraq? Would it matter who wins? Both candidates will have to cow-tow to US demands anyway, so what's the diff? Elections there are merely for propaganda. Yeah, bringing democracy to Iraq. Uh huh.

Do you not see globalization being put into action by Bush right now?

Globalization will be built, and the USA-government (not the people) leads the way. China, India, EU and Brazil just formed an alliance... China and the EU are now building their own GPS system.

Actually, this would be the base for the Iraq invasion, among other things. That is, to put into action on how to take out rogue states that will not submit to a world order. The EU is doing it in Africa. This is world collusion, as predicted in Revelation. Do you doubt that? Notice that our military surrounds Iran and is based on the southern borders of Russia. The target is Eurasia, which has 80% of all the oil and mineral resources. This is the place of contention.

If America were to leave, who would come forward? Do you think that they would allow [us] to maintain our freedom? Or, do you think that they would all of sudden become peaceful nations? Lets look at who were are discussing:

China.. Totalitarian rule
Russia.. Totalitarian rule
Middle East... all are dictators except Israel.
Iran.. has nuclear weapons. A militant theocracy
Terrorism.. Who are they and what do they want?
North Korea.. has nuclear weapons which can reach our country

Step into another nation's moccasins for just a minute. Don't other nations resent this too... countries the US has invaded, bombed, occupied, extorted through sanctions, etc.?

For example?

Certainly, other nations had their own best interests in mind. But it appears you are unfamiliar with the US's postion in the UN, and its role in Iraq. It was the US's oil agenda being served, as always, and Euorpean UN members finally mustered the courage to oppose us.

Countries are not concerned with liquid oil. This comodity must be traded. It is the trading cartels which retain the power. It comes down to the $ or the Euro. Which would you prefer?

If OPEC were to base their oil in EURO's, that would start a war with the USA. Therefore, that is why you do not see them trading in EURO's. So, how will [they] bring down our country?

Much is at stake.. Do you remember the following words? You should know that not many men in the histroy of this world could write that. It was your pleasure at the expense of defending our way of life. Are we wrong to defend our way of life? And if the USA were to fall, what better solution is out there for our people to submit to?

The brotherhood of man, peace on earth is a false doctrine and has never, nor could ever, come into effect. No.. actually, the world is quite a deadly place. And, who is to blame for this? America? We are the Fascists? Just what do you want the US-government to do?..

Step into another nation's moccasins for just a minute. Don't other nations resent this too.

They resent your way of life.. and mine. These are the words of a free man...

"A big fat turkey cooks with all the trimmings. Eggnog... I can't get enough of it. It's not available any other time of year here. I drink it warm with nutmeg, no spirits, in a special snowman glass my daughter made as child for me in art class. I treasure it. The sweet smell of turkey and ginger fills the house. Vanilla coffee too. And the scented candles... my favorite is Hot Apple Pie"..
http://www.suite101.com/discussion.cfm/r...

My opinion?.. I believe we have stepped into the point of no return. My focus is on getting out the word of God, not dictating politics. However, we should hold our government responsible, this is agreed. But, [we] are not the problem. The problem is our government, all of them. They have effectively divided the people, which, we are the government. But, I am afraid it is too late to do anything other than submit to the world order and become slaves..

You can scream and cry all you want, but this won't change anything and you know that. Attacking others within our nation is what the NWO wants, to divide and conquer. We do not live in a love dovey peaceful world. That is a fairytale. All that is out there are enemies who hate your way of life and will do what it takes to take it away from you. That has always been the way of life. Master and Slaves. Except of course, the last 250 years with the great experiment of our nation. Freedom by the people, government of the people...

Is there any other nation on earth which is like ours? "We the people"... No.. not one... If we fall, what would be the replacement? If our founding fathers fleed persecution and built a Republic based upon democracy, the USA, then what is the alternative, if we submit to [others] demands. Are we the cause for the worlds problems? We have pnly been a nation for 250 years. Iraq and all the rest of the Middle East nations have been killing themselves for centuries. Do you think all of a sudden this will change? Germany started two world wars and implemented genocide. I could go on, but I hope you see the true issue. Life is not a bowl of cherries and mankind is a walking killer. Not you or me, or Arthur or plox or Phil or BJ or Sylvia, or IM1 or any of the rest of us, we are 'the people'.. [they-the minority] are the ones who want total control. [We] can do something or nothing. It will not come about by civil protests. Welcome to the 21st Century.

The only one who can help this world is God. The nation that chooses God is the nation that will be blessed. Our nation choose God, in the beginning, and we were blessed. Today, I think we have given into the world and have rejected God.

ps> I asked you earlier, what would you do? You have not answered. But you are good at complaining...

But like the Tsunami, the final end of our Liberty will come instantly, with a stroke of a pen, without a shot being fired. And the average Joe will not care a whit, until it is too late, except to complain; "why didn’t somebody tell me!"

I suspect Arthur will be deleting these posts sooner or later.

It wasn't too many years ago when people were asked their opinion on world affairs they would answer, "I'm not worried. I read the book and I know how it all ends.". It seems that's where you're coming from, Wendell. You've read the book and you know how it all ends.

In the meantime, you're being led to your own slaughter by the neocons who are on a rampage to take over the entire world. It's a sad case and I'm very worried for my grand children.

There is a very cold attitude held in some circles. The world's population is on its way to the breaking point. Too many people--not enough space. ???? Here comes the new world order.

Oh, Phil... Please, do tell me, about mesmile... lol.. As for your grandchildren?.. i.e., next generation...

Last night I conversed with a 20 year old, at my favorite coffee shop.. What was his thoughts? America is the fascist.. We are the problem. He was leaving to live in a commune in the woods somewhere in California, wanting to escape the realities of the world. Boy.. sure wished I could do that!.. (lol)... I asked him.. Do you know how many men died for your privelage to live in the woods in California. His response was: "what, do you want me to send them a thank you note? I wasn't here when they did all that.. What do I care"... Indeed... Welcome to the 21st Century.. But, on the reverse of this, I have talked with many a good young people who love this country and pay honor to those who have fought and died for it... They want change.. but not at the expense of the people divided and split, fighting among our selfs, the unseen civil war which is now in effect...

Deleting posts?

Me?

For this discussion which at times looks like a fist-fight is in reality opposing views passionately expressed with very few if any walking away because someone was mean and rude.

Last week I read somewhere that the Internet in general and the blogosphere in particular are changing much more than just the way news and information is gathered by individuals and communities. Big time broadcast media will continue to watch its credibility slip away the more Internet usage of news expands.

Media bias is one of the root causes and I'm not implying that bias in the media is is the overriding negative. Those who actively seek and find news from the selections made available via this newer electronic media do so with a greater understanding of the bias at each site they read (or they soon figure it out.)

This in turn has informed millions in the sense of understanding big broadcast media bias so that those who watch FoxNews regularly are aware of and agree with that particular bias (or they go there for other reasons such as keeping tabs on that particular bias.)

In the case of the big broadcasaters, they have an image problem only in that by trying to avoid the appearance of bias and at the same time work to stay legitimate (and in most cases keep their corporate ownership and it's own self-serving agenda off their backs) they can only tell us what has been approved for broadcast.

Hence, at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm I can tune in ABC, CBS or NBC knowing that I'll be getting a shallow half-hour dose of news that has been filtered more through the owners' "what news sells?" bias more than a "political" bias.

Back to my point about this discussion. Because of the Internet, those who enter into our little frays remain in a state of talking to one another and that is good for us and the country.

Someone again last week said that the information and idea exchanges on the Internet strengthen communities nationwide in a powerful manner - much in the same way town meetings in the mid-19th century were at their strongest levels and had the greatest impact upline to the hallowed halls of power.

Delete?

Naw ... there are too many censors around already and although I do have an edit/delete function, I'd only use it under the policy common to most discussion boards: You act like a mean drunk and I'll toss your a** outta here and your posts with ya.

Interesting comment by you in light of the fact that you are a person who scoffs at those who study philosophy. Perhaps you should open your mind and think a little more deeply about what remedies might be available. After all, this is a real world, you know.

And, in all seriousness, I think this impignes on the article this thread is all about--the problems of believing in Fundamentalist doctrinology in a world where a few powerful men are planning their own special future civilization. It just might be that they have decided to do something radical about the world's looming problems. Catastrophic world wars start with breakouts in hot spots like Iraq or Poland or Mongolia. I expect that when the big boys decide the time has come, they will begin firing the thousands and thousands of weapons that are in place and poised to wipe out billions of people within a few hours. The world population could be reduced to a few fortunate hundred million people or less before the survivors know it. Think of all the problems that will be solved. What a coup.

In the early decades of the twentieth century nihilism was quite popular in Russia. Some ideologues imagined a new "Garden of Eden" where a few select members of the human race would start the brave new world after everyone else had been wiped out with poison gas or some other such weapon of war.

Maybe Ayn Rand's concepts are based on such an event. ???

I scoff at the study of philosophy in light of God.. Not men..

Perhaps you should open your mind and think a little more deeply about what remedies might be available. After all, this is a real world, you know.

Phil, why do you point your finger at me? I am not your problem. You only complain and label, point fingers, but offer nothing in return... Is that what a liberal repesents?

the problems of believing in Fundamentalist doctrinology in a world where a few powerful men are planning their own special future civilization.

It is precisly this doctrine which [they] want. You adhere to it. However, the 'Christians' which you claim are the ones who are in a [war for God] is only a delusional concept, created by none other than those from the extreme liberal left. You would serve you cause better by addressing issues, not false labels in which you create, then believe.

It just might be that they have decided to do something radical about the world's looming problems

Kerry (democrats) are none different. Remember? He said we need to align ourselves more with the affairs of the world. He is a globalist, just as all the top people are. What we have in effect today is the complete elimination of the middle class. Sound familiar? Remember Stalin?.. At any rate, if the middle class is destroyed, then all we have are the poor and the rich. Who then will win that battle.

You would serve your cause better if you would stop labeling people, in what you think they are, or not. So far, at least concerning myself, you have been wrong 100% of the time. I am not your enemy. You are not my enemy. And besides, you really know nothing about me, whatsoever... Let alone my political views..

But, you may go ahead and label all you want. This is the division and this will be the ultimate reason for the collapse of our country.. You do not believe that? Do you really think you are changing anything? All you have accomplished is labeling people, you know nothing about...

Stick with the issues.. Otherwise, you are violating the TOS of Suite by worrying about me personally. Worry about the subject, not the person.. (yawn)..
