Excellent, Arthur. The link you provided was equally thought-provoking..."Knowledge of the historical Jesus illuminates the appalling chasm between what he lived and taught and Dominionist ideology.... To those who advance these atrocities, he would only reply: “I never knew you.”"
And they never knew Him.

Wonderful article, Arthur. Thanks.If I had anything to quibble over, it would be your title. Members of the Christian Right seem to have abolutely no problem with their judgemental, war-loving Jesus. Yes, it requires selective reading and promotion of the Old Testament over the New, until Jesus seems like an unwelcome visitor in his own church--but the Christian Right is up to it.
No problem at all.
